This journal club looks at the original nasal subunit principle proposed by Burget and Menick in 1985.
The authors hypothesise that reconstructing the entire subunit results in a greater aesthetic outcome.
Patients with >50% defect of their subunit have complete resection of their subunit and reconstructed with an FTSG or flap.
20 patients. No formal scar assessment, just the "surgeon's eye"
No formal conclusion in this study
